Join SVF

University of Michigan’s Social Venture Fund at the Ross School of Business is a one of a kind business education experience. The nation’s first and only entirely student-run social venture fund, SVF represents action-based learning at its finest.

What We Offer

  • Learn by Doing - SVF makes real investments in real companies, and this challenges fund members learn how to make important decisions with incomplete data in novel and ambiguous contexts.
  • Build Your Skills - Fund members participate both in for-credit classes, and student run education sessions. Just a few of the technical skills you will develope are market sizing, financial modeling, valuation term-sheet drafting, and impact assessment/evaluation.
  • Find your People - Many alumni say they forged their most enduring friendships through their work at SVF. Our 80+ alumni work at the world’s most preeminent business, governmental and mission-driven organizations.

  • 10-15 graduate students and 2-3 undergraduates to join the fund for the 2014-2015 academic year.
  • Fund members must be a Ross (BBA/MBA/PHD) to join the fund, but dual-degree candidates are welcome regardless of where they are currently taking classes.
  • We are more interested in where you are going than where you have been and consider applicants with all varieties of professional experience.
