Matthew Carney

Matthew is a second year Erb student pursuing a dual degree between Michigan’s Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability.

His primary focus is renewable energy entrepreneurship and environmental justice in emerging markets. Matthew spent his past summer working with a solar company in Kathmandu, helping develop a business plan for solar-powered agricultural technology in rural Nepal. He also co-founded a student team to research successful renewable energy business models in India and Uganda on behalf of the William Davidson Institute and Erb Institute.

Prior to Michigan, Matthew worked at a market research consulting firm in New York City. Matthew holds a bachelors degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics from Davidson College.
